The Chevrolet TRAX and the Nissan Kicks are crossover SUVs providing excellent value for money. You’ll get a lot of features, great fuel economy, and nice handling from either car.
Nevertheless, some key differences between the two models might make one more appealing to you than the other. At Jay Hodge Chevrolet of Muskogee, we highly recommend the 2024 TRAX. We expect it to arrive at our dealership later this year.
Here’s what you need to know about the 2024 Chevrolet TRAX and the 2023 Nissan Kicks.
The 2024 Chevrolet TRAX has a more spacious cabin layout than the 2023 Kicks. The TRAX has 99.8 cubic feet of passenger space compared to the 92.6 cubic feet in the Kicks. The Chevy SUV also has large front seats, comfortably accommodating adults.
The TRAX’s back seat has plenty of headroom and legroom, so it’s great for taller people. This model also has an optional reclining bench seat in the back, which makes it even more comfortable to drive long distances or with multiple people.
The TRAX’s cabin is also made of high-quality materials. The seat fabric feels soft and durable while still being breathable enough that it doesn’t become too hot or sticky on warm days.
The TRAX also has more storage space than its competitor. It has 25.6 cubic feet of space behind the rear seat and 54.1 cubic feet of storage space when the seat is folded. The Kicks only has 25.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat and 32.3 cubic feet of storage room when the rear seat is folded.

The 2024 Chevrolet TRAX has a more powerful engine than the 2023 Nissan Kicks. Under the hood of the Chevy crossover is a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 137 horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission sends power to the wheels. On the other hand, the Nissan Kicks has a 1.6-liter engine with only 122 horsepower. A continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) transfers power to the wheels.
There’s no EPA rating yet for the 2024 TRAX. But since its powertrain is similar to the 2023 Trailblazer, it should be as fuel efficient. The Trailblazer has an EPA rating of 29 mpg for city driving and 33 mpg for highway driving.
The Kicks is more fuel efficient. It has an EPA rating of 31 mpg for city driving and 36 mpg for highway driving.
The TRAX and the Kicks have comparable safety features. All TRAX models have the Chevy Safety Assist suite of driver-aids. These include automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Adaptive cruise control is optional.
Automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning are standard on the Kicks. If you want adaptive cruise control, you need to pay extra.
If you want a crossover with generous passenger and cargo space and a more powerful engine, you should choose the 2024 Chevrolet TRAX over the 2023 Nissan Kicks.
