The Chevy Equinox is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with 175 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. This engine is a carry-over from the 2024 model, but instead of a 6-speed automatic transmission, it now comes standard with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). All-wheel drive is optional and comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a torque boost of 203 lb-ft.
Every Kia Sportage model is powered by a 2.5-liter, 187-hp, 4-cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. The Sportage also comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, with most trims offering a standard front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available as well.
The Sportage’s ride is generally smooth, and the steering wheel is nicely weighted and balanced. The excellent brakes bring the Sportage to a complete halt quickly and confidently.
